SmartLF is the application when learning to use a large format scanner like the SmartLF for the first time or when the requirements for the scanner are expected to be occasional or non-specialist. The SmartLF scanner software, which is included at no extra cost supports scan-to-file, scan-to-copy and scan-to-email. SmartLF's animated graphical interface has been specially designed to be clear and simple for the operator to learn and use. Alongside SmartLF software the ScanWorks and CopySmart professional software options have been specifically developed to provide most of the functions and tools needed by an operator requiring professional scan-to-file and scan-to-print.

SmartLF operation is started by pressing any one of the three buttons in the software (shown above) or by using the File or Copy buttons on the scanner control panel. SmartLF will then operate in a continuous or batch mode until the panel or software button is pressed again. Technical scanning terms have been replaced with more easily understood descriptions to help first-time scanner users.
